Fun with Friends for a Good Cause!
HERE FOR GOOD WOMEN'S ADVENTURE SERIES
The Whatcom Family YMCA is offering women an opportunity to get out into nature! Join us for one or all of our adventure series this spring and summer.
Gravel Grind: Saturday, May 7
8:00-11:00am
Join a local powerhouse gal on a gravel grind ride. You will need to be in decent bike shape and also need a mountain bike, your own repair supplies, helmet, gloved, lightweight just-in-case jacket, water, snack and transportation to the trailhead.
Vehicles will need a Discover Pass. If transportation is a barrier for you, please let us know and we'll load you & your bike up with one of us. Plan to ride somewhere between 2 & 3 hours, then have a little celebration with refreshments at the finish. Registration limit is 15, so sign up early as we expect this event to fill quickly. Participants will receive more information for day-of post-registration.
Boats & Goats: Sunday, May 15
Time TBD
You've heard of whale watching boat tours but have you ever heard of a goat petting boat tour? Come aboard for an adventure on Bellingham Bay with our fun Captain. Socialize, have a beverage & snacks and get your photo taken with some spunky goats!
Happy Hour Hike: Thursday, June 9
Begins at 5:30pm
You're in already, right? Join our fun, fun, fun trip leaders on what's likely to be an unusual hike. Mid-point there will be a spot to socialize, have a beverage & snacks, and maybe take some awesome photos.
You will need heart, lungs & feet, maybe some water, too. Seriously, this one is all about fun, friends and treats. What's not to like?
Location will be provided a week prior to the event to registered participants.
Rebel Run: Sunday, July 10
Begins at 8am
Rebel against your daily go-to trails by following our top notch trip leader on a super-fantastic new route that you will be able to add to your list of amazing places to run. These walk/jog/runs tend to be approximately three hours and are open to a variety of paces.
Meet-up points are included, plus a staff sweep at the end to make sure no one drops off the back. You will need your own water and trail fuel, but we will provide more food at the end when your belly is growlin' for it.
