FIGHTING BACK AGAINST PARKINSON'S

Several medical studies on exercise and Parkinson's disease have concluded that moderate to high intensity exercise can slow the progression of Parkinson's.

In Rock Steady Boxing classes, people can learn a new skill that is fun and a good stress reliever while addressing many of the symptoms of Parkinson's.

You are training to improve:

  •     Balance
  •     Hand-eye coordination
  •     Speed of movement
  •     Agility
  •     Muscle power
  •     Mental focus
  •     Rhythm

You should participate if you:

  •     Have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease
  •     Are willing to complete and submit signed informed consent form, waiver, and medical release
  •     Agree to having an interview/assessment meeting before starting and periodic progress monitoring 
  •     Do not have cardiac or pulmonary disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled hypertension, or stroke, dementia, other medical conditions that are contraindicative to exercise.
