"The group and instructor at the Diabetes Prevention Program has turned things around for me during the challenges of the pandemic. I needed the DPP before the pandemic, but during it my eating and weight had gotten out of control. The program has helped me change my unhealthy stress eating and weight gain and encouraged exercise.

I am now planning and eating healthy meals while losing some weight, and with a bit more help from the group, I’m sure that I'll learn to get movement and exercise going. The Zoom format is actually helpful to me as it has been easier to still show up even if I am not feeling the best. The wonderful support of the people in the group and of the instructor as well as sharing experiences has been crucial to helping me on a new path. Thank you! The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles by eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight in order to reduce their chances of developing the disease.
