UNLIMITED SUPPORT,  MEASURABLE RESULTS

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles by eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight in order to reduce their chances of developing the disease. 

 

"Wow, there are so many reasons to like this class. Not only did I learn about how to prevent type two diabetes, I also learned about food nutrition, healthy eating habits, and how important my activity level is for preventing diabetes. It has changed my eating habits and daily life. I feel good about the changes that I've made and the positive feelings keep me active in my activity level and my eating habits.

This class has definitely made an impact on my life now and in my future. One of the reasons that this class was so impactful is because we had a great facilitator for this class, Tara. She created an environment that was safe for us to talk about our current life and what we have gained from the program, the changes that we've made in our lives, and we all know that what we shared was in a protected respectful environment.
